Eclipse 12 introduces the most extensive update to its audio system ever. This webinar is dedicated entirely to the new audio recording, playback, monitoring, and synchronization tools that revolutionize how court reporters, captioners, and transcription professionals capture and manage audio. Attendees will gain a deep understanding of the latest advancements, how to optimize settings for various recording environments, and how to fully leverage the new features for better accuracy and efficiency.

Who Should Attend?
● Court reporters and captioners aiming to elevate their audio recording and playback for improved transcript precision or use with tools like Boost and Boost Flow.
● Professionals looking to optimize their workflow with the latest monitoring and synchronization tools.
● Users interested in multi-channel recording, speech-to-text integration, and better playback control.
● Anyone using or interested in using Eclipse 12 who wants to fully understand the new audio features and how to apply them effectively.

Click the "TOPICS" tab above for full details of what's covered.

Waveform Display Enhancements
● Always-Visible Waveform Display – See your audio activity immediately upon opening Eclipse, ensuring proper recording setup at all times.
● Peak Indicators – Visualize audio input levels with new horizontal markers that help monitor peak volume in real time.
● Pre-Roll Waveform Buffer – Store the last 15 seconds of audio before recording starts, allowing for instant recovery of spoken words before pressing record.

Advanced Recording Controls
● Recording Input Level Control – Adjust microphone input gain directly from the waveform display, fine-tuning your recording levels without navigating external settings.
● Detect Available Channels Per Device – Eclipse now recognizes multi-channel recording hardware and dynamically adjusts the number of channels available based on your device.
● Stacked Audio Recording and Mixing – Combine multiple recording sources seamlessly, such as your personal microphone and a courtroom audio feed, for a richer, more reliable audio backup.
● 24-Bit Audio Support – Expanded compatibility now includes higher-quality 24-bit recording devices, capturing more detail for professional-grade audio clarity.
● Loopback Recording – Record system audio (e.g., Zoom, Teams, or any live-streamed proceedings) without third-party software, ensuring a direct and lossless capture of spoken content.

New Playback and Monitoring Features
● Alternative Playback (Alt Play) – Configure multiple playback modes for different scenarios, such as one setting for scoping and another for reviewing testimony.
● Three Distinct Playback Devices – Assign unique playback settings to different devices, allowing for independent control over standard playback, alternative playback, and live monitoring.
● Monitor Audio in Real Time – Listen to your microphone input before recording begins to ensure quality and eliminate surprises. Monitoring settings now include adjustable delay options to fine-tune timing.
● Channel Playback Selection – Choose which audio channels to play back or monitor individually, allowing for greater control over multi-channel recordings.

Synchronization and Efficiency Improvements
● Time Warp Playback – Slow down real-time audio monitoring to keep up with fast speakers while maintaining natural pitch and clarity.
● Sync to Cursor Enhancements – Improved alignment of text and audio to reduce manual adjustments when reviewing transcripts.
● Auto Sync Adjustments – Eclipse can now detect and automatically correct minor sync drift over long recordings.
● Auto-Hide Audio Bar – The audio bar intelligently disappears when no audio file is detected, keeping your workspace clean.

User Interface and Accessibility Improvements
● Redesigned Audio Control Panel – A more intuitive layout makes it easier to configure recording, playback, and monitoring settings.
● Rename “WAV” to “Audio” – All references to WAV files have been replaced with “Audio” to reflect support for multiple formats, including MP3.
● Device Detection on the Fly – If an audio device is disconnected, Eclipse now automatically updates the device list when reconnected—no restart required.
● Logarithmic Amplification – A new digital gain boost increases quiet recordings without excessive distortion, particularly useful for low-output microphones.
Workflow Enhancements
● Playback File Selection Options – Easily switch between multiple recorded audio files, including main recordings, backups, and multi-channel sources.
● Enhanced Warning Messages – New system alerts notify users of potential issues, such as missing audio inputs, incorrect sample rates, or unexpected file conversions.
● Improved Multi-Channel Audio Handling – Channels can now be individually muted, mixed, or recorded with greater precision.
